About me
Samira Memarzadeh is a harpist, educator, and dramaturg of Persian-German heritage whose work moves fluidly between cultures, generations, and musical worlds. Drawing on traditions from Mongolia, Southwest Asia, and Senegal, she weaves improvisation, microtones, and traditional sounds on concert harp and čang. Since 2021, she has shaped young audiences’ musical experiences at Tonhalle Düsseldorf. With studies in Islamic Studies, Ethnology, and Music Performance in Germany and the UK, her practice is rooted in scholarship and lived cultural dialogue today worldwide.
