About me
Multi disciplinary harpist Maria Christina Cleary specializes in research and performance on historical harps. Her PhD thesis, “Harpe Organisée, 1720-1840: Rediscovering the lost pedal techniques on harps with a single-action pedal mechanism”, is the first monograph on pedalling techniques. She has performed with Baroque ensembles in Europe and North America and teaches improvisation and chamber music in seminars and masterclasses around the world. She has published for Early Music, the Basler Jahrbuch, and The American Harp Journal.
