About me
Australian harpist Jacinta Dennett's creative practice intrinsically entwines movement and music. Drawn to the harp’s responsive nature and lingering resonance, she has developed an idiosyncratic performance style rooted in her pursuit of the essence of gesture. Inspired by Carlos Salzedo’s fundamental harpistic gesture and Rudolf Steiner’s eurythmy, her work fuses sound, physicality and poetic embodiment. Informed by dance and martial arts, her performances have been described as “athletically virtuosic,” evoking what she calls "swimming with sound."
