Described as combining a “luscious tone and technical prowess”(The Vancouver Sun), Ariel Barnes has been hailed as a “truly inspiring artist…the outstanding Canadian cellist of his generation” by Maestro Bramwell Tovey. Ariel performs throughout Europe, North America and Asia, was the first prize winner in the 24th International Johannes Brahms Competition, has received a Juno nomination, the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Award at the University of Toronto, and generous project support from the arts councils in British Columbia and Manitoba.
