About me
Born
and raised in Romania, Alexandra Oancea studied violin at the National
University of Music Bucharest before continuing her studies at the S.
Rubin Academy of Music in Tel Aviv and the Basel Academy of Music,
earning concert, teaching, and orchestral diplomas. She studied with
distinguished musicians including Adelina Oprean and Zubin Mehta. During
her career, she performed throughout Europe as well as Israel. She is
equally passionate about teaching and works as a violin teacher at the
Arlesheim Music School near Basel, Switzerland. Her musical interests
range from classical and contemporary music to world music traditions.
As a member of the ensembles Tír ná nóg and Tír nua, she has developed a
deep passion for Celtic music traditions and continues to explore the
richness of this fascinating musical heritage.
