PhoeNX Ensemble and Little Pear Garden Dance Company present the Legend of
Chang’e, Immortal Goddess of the Moon. The Legend of Chang'e is a foundational component of Chinese mythology.  Chang’e is the spirit of the moon, an immortal woman, a moon goddess. She is often depicted as a beautiful woman symbolizing elegance, grace, and charm. After drinking an elixir of immortality, she lives on the moon with the Jade Rabbit. In iconography, she is portrayed carrying the Jade Rabbit in her arms. Her captivating mythology has several popular variations, highlighting themes of heroism, sacrifice, and eternal love. The PhoeNX ensemble and Little Pear Garden Dance bring the legend of Chang'e alive in this captivating performance as a part of Cirque des harpes!
